Staff can now acknowledge documents

You can now use your existing (or new) staff documents to create an audit log of acknowledgement of your required reading. You now have the option to require every staff member with access to your setting in Famly to log in to acknowledge a staff document, with a timestamped record of when they did so.

Staff get an in-app notification, and you can see whose acknowledgement is still pending

Staff document permissions

Managing staff documents now has three new permissions of its own

  • Permission to view documents: read, download, and acknowledge them

  • Permission to manage documents by adding, editing and deleting them (this is managers-only by default)

  • Permission to view acknowledgements

Where to find it: Documents → Staff Documents

📌 Available on premium and professional packages.

Medication can now be administered without parent acknowledgement

Staff will now be able to log a medication dose, even when the parent hasn't yet acknowledged the form. You will see a clear warning, so it's obvious consent is still outstanding. Before, the dosage section stayed locked until both the setting and the parent or carer have acknowledged the form, which blocked emergency or on-demand medication.

📌 Available on premium and professional packages.

Bill payer splits now support decimal percentages

When a child is paid for by more than one bill payer, the percentage each of them pays can now include decimals. Splitting between three bill payers gives each of them an equal share instead of rounding one of them up, and a percentage such as 33.5% can be typed straight into the row.

📌 Available on all packages.

Drag and drop to move shifts on the staff schedule

You can now move a shift on the staff schedule by dragging it.

  • Drop it on another colleague to reassign it,

  • Drop it on another day to move it

  • Drop it on the "Open shifts" row to unassign it.

  • Drag an open shift onto a colleague to assign it.

📌 Available on the professional package

Custom roles for all staff

Settings on all packages can now build their own staff roles with bespoke titles and permissions. In addition to this, all settings now have four custom roles, ready to go, when they create a site:

  • Manager

  • Deputy Manager

  • Senior Practitioner

  • Practitioner

Where to find it: Settings → Staff → Roles and permissions (you will need the "Manage roles" permission)

📌 Available on all packages

Assign qualification types

You can categorise staff by their role or qualification level, for example, Room Leader, Qualified Practitioner, or Early Years Assistant. Once set up, these categories are visible in the staff schedule and room overview, giving you an at-a-glance view of the qualifications present in the room and the setting.
Where to find it: Settings → Staff → Qualifications

📌 Available on premium and professional packages.

Filter by withdrawn or active children in the Debt Collection report

The newest debt collection report now has a "withdrawn children" filter, so you can see the debt that's owed by families who no longer attend your setting.

Where to find it: In the newest debt collection report

📌 Available on premium and professional packages.

🔦 Feature spotlight: Device enrolment

You are now able to register trusted devices (like room tablets) and restrict child data access to those devices only. There is also the option to limit data access by role, so certain roles can only see child data on an enrolled device.

📌 Available on all packages.

Fixes, improvements, and smaller updates

Staff gender
Staff profiles now carry a gender on the Basic info tab: Male, Female, Not specified, and Non-binary. This is hidden from anyone without the "Sensitive employee info" permission.

See all your organisation's upcoming children in one place
"New Starters" is no longer site by site; instead, organisations now get one list of every upcoming child across their sites, sorted by start date. However, you can also filter the "New Starters" list by site if you want to view only specific settings and search by child's name, or by a contact's name or email.

A new welcome page for new staff
New staff now get a page explaining the essentials of Famly, right after they set a password, instead of just being dropped straight into the app!

Enquiries now has its own permissions
Enquiry access no longer requires the "Create child" permission and child contact access. There is now a "Manage enquiries" permission (where you can view, create, edit and delete enquiries) and a "View enquiries" permission where you can only view enquiries.

A new integration with Nuuri

You can now receive Nuuri enquiries straight into Famly with our new integration.
Where to find it: Settings → Integrations → Custom API integrations

📌 Available on the professional package

Nuuri helps nurseries turn interest into filled places, without the hassle. From getting discovered by local families to automating tours and managing waiting lists, Nuuri streamlines the full pre-enrolment journey, from first impression to first day.
