A new button for easy updates

The new 'quick actions button' stays with you on every page, letting you log meals, naps, or check-ins in a single tap without having to click back and forth. The action button is on by default, but you can disable it for your device from your account preferences.

📌 Available on all packages.

Pin a post to the top of the news feed

You can now pin one post to the top of your site’s newsfeed. The pinned post appears as a summary above all other posts and stays there until unpinned or replaced, even as new posts are published.

📌 Available on all packages.

Even better debt collection reporting

We've made some major improvements to your debt collection report, as well as speeding up overall performance. You now have more filter options, you can search by children, and use bill payer tags to get a clearer breakdown of who owes what.

You can now also exclude billpayers from having to add a payment method to access Famly, even if you have that setting switched on.

📌 Available on all packages.

Instant parent bookings

Parent bookings are being given a major makeover! Here's what you can look forward to:

  • An improved look and experience for parents.

  • Parents will no longer be able to book when you're closed. No more needing to check whether a care request falls on the weekend, after closing hours, or on a closing day.

  • You get more control over exactly how many days in advance parents and carers can book extra sessions.

  • You'll be able to include standard discounts, so that they are always applied to the purchase.

And, of course...

  • You'll be able to allow parents to book and pay upfront for a session, if there is capacity (based on room capacity & expected attendance)

  • No need to review and approve the request. If you have space for the booking, Famly will do it for you!

🔦 Feature spotlight: All about me forms

If you're on Famly's Professional package and you haven't tried out Famly's "All about me" forms, there's no time like the present! Although they've been available for a little while, I just wanted to signpost them again, as it seems like some of you didn't know this amazing feature was available to you.

Fixes, improvements, and updates

“Children > Age Groups” becomes “Care Requirements”
We are replacing the existing settings page for Children > Age Groups with a new page called “Care Requirements”. You can now find the settings for staff ratios for rooms here, for clarity and ease of overview.

Better ratio calculations
We’ve made ratio calculations more consistent across the app. The new way of determining these calculations will support age group ratios or custom group ratios, depending on how you’ve set your ratios in Famly, on the “Care Requirements” page.

In-app notification of denied care request
Parents now receive an in-app notification when their ad hoc purchase request is rejected. Previously, approvals triggered both an in-app notification and an email, but rejections only sent an email.

Enquiries can now be prioritised
You can now set a priority (High, Medium or Low) on each enquiry, see it as a coloured pill in the inquiries table, and filter the list to focus on the inquiries that matter most.
