Collection Password

In some sites, families need to define a secret word or phrase for their child to be collected. This is particularly useful when staff members on the day don't recognise the person collecting a child. The pickup person can validate they're the correct person by giving the staff member the Collection password for that child. Collection passwords can be found on a child's profile, or on the room overview for all the children in a particular room.

๐Ÿ’ก Remember to update your Famly app to the latest version if you're not able to see this feature!

Enabling Collection Passwords

Before creating Collection passwords, you'll need to enable them in your Settings first. In Settings, head to Children and then to Collection password. From here, toggle on Enable collection passwords.

This toggle allows staff and parents to set a Collection password for children on their profiles. Staff will be able to reveal these passwords on a child's profile, or in bulk in the room overview for efficient pickup during busy periods at the setting.

๐Ÿ’ก Staff members must have the permission to Sign children in and out to view and edit Collection passwords

Creating Collection Passwords

On the child's profile, parents or staff can click on the Collection password icon in the top right corner.

Here, you can view or change the password, which will then update it in the room overview for staff. You can also repeat these steps to change a child's password at any point, just click on Change password.

To see a list of all Collection passwords for a particular room at once, head to your Overview under the Home icon in your sidebar, click into a room, and then on the same Collection password button as on the child's profile.

The children's collection passwords will be displayed in a list like the one below, and you'll also see if any children are missing a collection password at the bottom:
