Famly gives parents a clear and simple overview of their child’s time at nursery, helping them stay connected and informed. From tracking daily activities to managing permissions and payments, everything is easily accessible in one place. Below, you'll find a breakdown of the different sections parents can see when they log in to Famly, and what each one is used for.
💡 Parents can log in to Famly on their mobile phone or a desktop computer. They'll have access to all the same features, but they may appear in different places depending on the type of device they're using
The Home Section
When a parent first logs in, they’ll land on the Newsfeed. This is where they’ll see observations, assessments, and posts shared by the nursery. If a post (not an observation or assessment) includes a photo of their child, parents can tag them. Tagged photos will automatically be saved to the Photos section on the child’s profile.
On the newsfeed, parents will also find polls, upcoming events, and any new invoices.
If parents are using Famly on a computer, they'll see some additional tabs in the Home section:
By clicking on Calendar, parents can view upcoming events held at the nursery.
In Activity plans, published weekly plans will be available so parents can see what their child will be doing that week.
In the Balance tab, parents can view all past and future invoices, pay any outstanding balance, download a statement of transactions, and view their automatic payment setup.
The Parent Profile Section
If parents are using Famly on their mobile phone, by tapping on the menu icon at the bottom of their screen, they'll see their main menu. From here, they can manage their profile information, navigate to different features, update their settings or log out.
Each parent’s main menu may appear slightly different, depending on the features you have enabled on your nursery platform. Most parents will see their name, photo, and email address at the top of the main menu. There is also a small pencil icon where profile information can be edited or updated. Below that, parents will see a button where they can sign their child in or out and view their sign-in PIN code (if enabled by the setting).
In the Menu section, parents have quick access to their Calendar, Activity plans, and Balance tab.
By selecting Account preferences, parents can update:
Contact information
Language and translation preferences
Notification and messaging preferences
Payment methods
The Child Profile Section
By tapping on their child’s profile picture, parents are taken to their child’s profile. Here, they’ll see the Activity feed, which shows sign-in and sign-out times, as well as any status updates. Parents can also log their child’s Sick, Holiday, or Absence days here. Just below, they’ll find the Leave overview and any tagged photos.
In the About tab, parents can enter and view their child’s information, including:
Basic info like Name, Gender, Date of birth, and Language
Health information
Sensitive information
Parent documents
Room and Room moves
Permissions that require a yes or no response
In the Family tab, parents can view all the child’s contacts and see if the child is linked to any siblings attending the same nursery.
Parents can tap on More to see additional sections of their child's profile. If they're using Famly on a computer, these sections will appear as separate tabs:
In Bookings, parents can see any additional purchases that have been approved or rejected. They will not see the full booking plan as staff do.
In Journey, parents can view observations, assessments, and two-year checks about their child. They can also leave comments.
In Notes, parents can view any notes marked as visible to them. If only staff-only safeguarding notes have been added, this section may appear empty.
In the Safeguarding tab, parents can view and acknowledge accident and incident reports, as well as any medication forms for their child.
Parents can also select Photos, Leave, Nap times, and Setting info to see more details.
Other Features on Parent Accounts
