Preventing Staff from Logging in to Famly when they're not Signed in to your Setting

You can require staff to be signed in to your setting in order to log in to Famly. This is an added layer of protection for data, as it means staff cannot access Famly when they aren't signed in to work. If staff log in to Famly without being signed in to their setting, this is all that can be seen:

Staff can be signed in by a manager, sign in to the setting using Famly's separate sign-in screen, or be signed in from the room overview by another member of staff, so they can then access Famly.

To set this up:

  • Log in to the app and go to your Settings menu (indicated by a cog icon)

  • Next, click Staff

  • Click on Manage role/permissions

  • Here, you need to make sure each staff member has the permission Can access the app away from the setting unchecked, by clicking in the box.

N.B. This is not a feature that enables the app to 'know' where a member of staff is geographically, only that they are signed in to the setting.

Allow Staff to Access Famly Outside of your Setting

To allow staff to access Famly outside of when they are signed in to your setting:

  • Log in to the app and go to your Settings in your sidebar

  • Next, click Staff

  • From here, click Roles and permissions

  • Then, Compare roles

  • Here, you need to make sure each staff member has the permission Can access the app away from the setting ticked
