In this article:

This only applies if your child's setting has enabled in-app payments - ask your child's setting if you're unsure.

What are in-app payments?

Famly supports in-app payments so you have an easy way to pay your child's fees right through your app. Your child's setting will decide whether they wish to use this service.

How to start using in-app payments

You can start paying in-app if your child's setting has enabled this for parents

To make sure you're ready to pay in-app for your child's fees:

  • Tap on your profile picture or click on Account in the menu bar

  • From here, select Settings

  • Next, tap on Payment methods

Alternatively, you can:

  • Tap on the Home icon in your sidebar

  • Select Balance

The video below will guide you through how to add a payment method and how to enable automatic payments:

There will be no option to add payment methods if your child's setting has chosen not to support in-app payments.

BACS Direct Debit

To set up a Direct Debit, follow the steps above and click Add direct debit mandate. A new window will open for you to enter your details. Once you've completed the details, click Next and the confirmation screen will open (as below). You'll need to read the message and click in the tick box, then click Confirm.

Before a direct debit mandate is ready for use, it must be verified by our payment provider. This takes around 2 days.

In order for an automatic DD mandate to be included in the next DD run, it must be verified at least 1 day prior to the DD run date.

Update your Direct Debit details

If you'd like to update your Direct Debit details, head to the Automatic payments section in your Balance tab. This is where you can see your current Direct Debit details. Click on Deactivate to remove your current Direct Debit mandate, then click on Add Direct Debit mandate and enter your new Direct Debit details here.

Payment Card

To add a payment card, select Card when setting up a payment method and enter your card details:

Automatic payments

The Automatic payments section of your Balance screen is where you can see the payment methods you have already set up, under Active payment method.

You can also use this section to add another payment method, under Available payment methods

If you have set up automatic payments, you will receive a notification 3 days before you're due to be billed.

You can deactivate autopay by clicking on Balance → View → then in the Automatic payments section, click → Deactivate next to your payment method
