The Journey tab

Your child's Journey tab is where you will find all the information about your child's learning and development. You can print or download your child's learning journey in the Journey tab on their profile.

Observations

The observations may be written, a photograph, a video, or a combination. Staff may link these to areas of the curriculum followed in your setting.

You can 'like' these with the heart icon, and add comments.

Assessments

Assessments will be an overview of your child's development over a longer period of time, and you child's key person will probably discuss this with you.

You can 'like' these with the heart icon, and add comments.

Adding your own observations of your child

Hearing about what your child is achieving whilst at nursery, and how, is very important to the majority of parents. However, not all learning happens in the nursery so it is important that people with the Parent role in Famly can also contribute observations of how your child is learning and developing at home.

Saving and Printing the Learning Journey

On your child's Journey tab, you can print or save their entire journey, or individual observations.

💡 Keep in mind that the option to downoad your child's journey isn't available on the Famly app on your smartphone. The journey can only be downloaded using a laptop or desktop computer

To print or save their entire journey:

  • Click on their Journey tab

  • Click on Print then Print all

  • Select the date period you'd like to show on the file and any additional information

  • Now, click on Print

  • Your print preview will show. From here, choose your printer as the Destination if you'd like to print the file, or select Save as PDF if you'd prefer to save it on your computer digitally
