Individual settings can choose to disable this feature- if you cannot see an option to message another parent it is likely your child's setting have not enabled it.

How to message another parent

In order to organise play dates, or share pick-ups, there is the possibility for parents to contact other parents. To message another parent:

  • Log in to Famly

  • Click on the two speech bubbles in the upper right corner of your screen, between your Notifications (the bell icon), and your link to the help centre (the question mark icon)- this is Messages

  • Click on the pencil icon to start a new message.

  • You have the option to select between different recipients by selecting the room their child is in and then the parents name - you are able to select multiple recipients. Parents can only see other parents first names.

  • Once you have chosen your recipients, you can compose your message in the white box at the bottom of the page

  • You can add photographs or documents with the 'Upload' button, in the bottom left corner. Keep in mind, you cannot attach videos to messages on Famly.

  • When you're happy with the message, click Send

How to opt out of receiving messages from other parents

Of course, this is a feature that can be disabled if you do not want to be contacted by other parents. Simply follow these steps to 'opt out'.

  • Go to Your Settings by clicking on your name and photo in the top right corner of your page

  • Click on Notifications & Messaging.

  • Here you'll find your different notification settings as well as your conversation settings, which can be adjusted as you'd like (as below). Click in the box labeled Do not allow other parents to message me privately

  • Click Save
