The Setting Overview
The Overview is your starting point - a place to kick off your day, stay on top of everything, and let Famly do even more of the work for you.
Featuring a dashboard-style landing page, the Overview lets you organise your own personal overview to make sure you've got easy access to all the most important functions.
How to Find the Overview
Your Overview can be found in the Overview tab under the Home icon:
Switching Between Your Site Overview and Room Overview
Using the tabs under the Site overview, you can easily switch views between your Room overview and your Tags. The Room overview tab will show you how many children and staff members are signed in and expected to attend, and on leave, whether that be sickness or holiday. Your Room overview will also show you your Starred rooms - clicking on the individual rooms will lead you to the overview for that particular room.
💡 You may notice a difference in the number of expected children shown in the Site overview and the Room overview. The Site overview shows how many children are expected to attend at the current time. The Room overview shows the total number of children expected to attend throughout the day. The number of expected children in the Room overview will often be higher for this reason, as not all children will currently be attending but will at some point in the day.
The room ratio graph has been replaced with easily readable information that gives you the same information much quicker. Now you'll be able to see all your staffing, attendance, and ratios right away without having to click around or do the mental maths yourself. And ratios are updated in the moment, giving you an accurate count at all times.
Understanding ratios in the Overview
The smiley and sad face indicators on the Overview page are based on the age ranges of the children signed into each room. If a room falls out of ratio, Famly will highlight which age group needs additional staff, or indicate if the room has reached its maximum child capacity.
When the smiley will not appear
The smiley indicator is only supported for age group ratios. If you are using staff ratios set at room level and not using age group ratios with maximum capacity, the smiley will not appear on the Overview page.
💡 If both age group ratios and room-level ratios are set up, the smiley will not show. To enable the smiley indicator, you will need to remove the room-level ratios and use age group ratios only
Empty staff or children sections
If the staff or children sections are empty, it means no staff or children have been signed into the setting.
Widget Overview
Depending on your permissions and the features used in Famly, you will be able to see the following widgets:

* Upcoming medication will only be showed for children that are currently signed in

Needs Your Attention
The Needs your attention widget gives you a quick overview of items that require your action, including things like pending observations, leave requests, accident reports, missing payment setup information, upcoming events and birthdays, and staff To-dos.
Adding a Staff To-do
To add a staff To-do:
Click See all in the widget
Type the task in Add a to-do and enter a due date if required
The task will now appear in the Needs your attention widget on your overview
Completing a To-do
Hover over the circle next to the task to mark it as completed
Completed To-dos are still visible when you click See all, but they will appear crossed off
This allows you to keep track of outstanding tasks while maintaining a record of completed ones for reference.

Customising Your Overview
Your Overview is also fully customisable, letting you decide which widgets you'd like to display where, and which ones you'd like to remove.
🔒 The Overview is only customisable for customers on our Professional package
To customise your Overview, click on the Settings wheel icon in the top right of your Overview
From here, you'll be redirected to the customisation page. Simply click and drag the widgets to reorganise them to your preferred configuration, or click and drag them to the Widget library to remove them from your Overview
Your changes will be applied automatically, so there's no need to save when you're done. Just click back to your Overview to check out your new configuration.
