Change a Bill Payer

Sometimes, you may need to update who receives invoices for a child. You can easily add or change a bill payer from the child’s profile in Famly.

Follow the steps below to make the change.


Add A New Bill Payer

Start by adding the new bill payer to the child’s profile.

  • Head to the child’s Profile and click on Bookings

  • In the Bill payers section, click Manage

  • Select Add bill payer, then either:

    • Choose Create a bill payer to add someone new, or

    • Choose Existing to select from the Suggested section (this lists other contacts linked to the child)

  • Click Add to confirm the new bill payer

You’ll now see both bill payers listed.

  • Hover over the bill payer you’d like to remove and click the x that appears

  • Click Save

The new bill payer is now linked to the child’s profile. All future invoices will be sent to them.

💡 To double-check, click View account to make sure they’re listed as an invoice recipient


Transfer Invoices and Payments

Invoices and payments are linked to the original bill payer they were sent to. If you'd like to transfer a balance or invoices from a previous bill payer to a new one, you can do so by searching for the previous bill payer's account.

Here’s how:

  • Use the Search function and filter for Bill payers

  • Type the previous bill payer’s name and open their account

  • Click on the invoice you want to transfer

  • Select the ... menu at the top, then click Transfer invoice

  • Type the name of the new bill payer and click Transfer

The invoice will now appear under the new bill payer’s account.

To transfer a payment:

  • Click on the payment you’d like to transfer from the current bill payer

  • In the Payment for field, type the name of the new bill payer and select them from the list

  • Click Update to confirm

The payment will now appear under the new bill payer’s account and will be reflected in their Balance.
