Automations let you schedule Frankie to check in on something at a set time, so the information is ready and waiting before you even ask. Whether it's a Monday morning payments overview or a daily staffing check before the day starts, you can set it up once and Frankie will take care of it on a schedule. In Frankie, these scheduled tasks are called automations.
How to Set Up an Automation
Setting up an automation takes just a few steps. Head to Frankie's settings and describe the job the same way you would in a normal chat:
Select Frankie in the bottom right, then select the Settings cog at the top right of Frankie's window
Select + Add automation, or choose one from the library
Under What should Frankie do?, describe the job the way you'd ask in chat. For example: "Summarize yesterday's attendance and let me know the standard check out time"
Choose which days and what time
Select Save
Frankie works to your site's time zone. Not sure where to start? Here are a couple of good first automations to try:
"Every Monday at 8:00 AM, send me the families who are behind on payments."
"Every weekday at 6:30 AM, tell me who's out and which classrooms are short."
You still make the calls
When Frankie does a regular job, Frankie gets the work ready and then waits for you. Anything that affects a family or a colleague, like a reminder or a leave request, still needs your OK.
Changing or Stopping a Regular Job
To edit, pause or delete one of Frankie's regular jobs, head back into your automation settings and find the task. From here, click on the trash icon to delete the task, the pen icon to edit it, and the pause icon to stop this task temporarily.
