The Quick actions button is a floating button that appears on every page of the platform. It gives you quick access to the actions you use most throughout the day, like signing children in, logging meals, and recording sleep, without leaving the page you’re on.
No more navigating away mid-task. Whether you’re writing an observation or reviewing the calendar, your most-used actions are always one tap away 💜
Finding the Quick Actions Button
The button appears automatically in the corner of every page. Tap it to open a menu of quick actions.
Available Actions
The action button gives you access to these core daily actions:
Action | What it does |
Check in | Check a child into the setting |
Check out | Check a child out of the setting |
Log meal | Log a meal for one or more children |
Log nappy/toilet | Record a nappy change or toilet visit |
Log sleep | Mark a child as sleeping |
Log wake up | Mark a child as awake |
My to-dos | Add a to-do to your list |
💡 You’ll only see actions you have permission to perform. If you don’t have access to a particular feature, it won’t appear in the menu
How to Use the Action Button
Tap the floating action button on any page
Select the action you want to perform
Choose the child or children and complete the action
You can bulk select all children in a room, saving time
You’ll be returned to the page you were on, with no navigation needed
Turning the Action Button On or Off
The action button is on by default. If you prefer not to use it, you can disable it from your account preferences. This is a per-device setting, so you can keep it on your tablet but turn it off on your desktop, for example.
How to disable the action button:
Go to Account Settings → Preferences
Find the Quick actions button setting
Toggle it off
💡 This is a personal preference. It only affects your device and does not change anything for other staff at your setting
Permissions and Access
The Quick actions button is available to all users on all packages. The actions shown in the menu depend on your permissions, so you’ll only see actions you’re allowed to perform.
No additional permissions are needed to use the button itself. If you can sign children in from the attendance page, you can also sign them in from the action button.
