What’s Included in the Foundation Package
The Foundation package gives you the core tools you need to run your nursery day to day. It includes everything you need to manage child profiles, communicate with families, and handle your billing, without the more advanced features that come with the higher-tier packages.
Included in the Foundation Package
With Foundation, you can:

Communicate through the newsfeed and messaging
Record daily logs and child profiles

These features cover the essentials for running your setting efficiently and keeping parents informed.
What’s Not Included in the Foundation Package
The Foundation package focuses on the essentials, so some of Famly’s advanced tools aren’t available.
If you’re on the Foundation package, you won’t have access to:
Custom roles or permissions (only default Famly roles are available)
Parent bookings (parents can’t book sessions directly)
Customisable registration, enquiry, or follow-up forms
Medication and accident forms
Debt and revenue reports
Occupancy reporting
Curriculum builder
Custom parent permissions
Sign-in screen (display mode)
Advanced reporting and analytics
Live translation
Sidekick (AI writing assistant)
API access or integrations (for example, Xero import/export)
Group management or cross-site analytics
Common Foundation Package Questions
Can I edit staff roles or create custom permissions on the Foundation package?
Not on the Foundation package. You can use the default Famly roles, but custom permissions are only available on higher-tier packages.
Can parents book their own sessions on the Foundation package?
No, parents can’t make ad hoc bookings on Foundation. Staff can still add ad hoc purchases directly to a child’s account.
Can I access occupancy or financial reports on the Foundation package?
Foundation includes basic invoicing and payment tracking but doesn’t include advanced reports like occupancy or revenue summaries.
Can I create custom registration or enquiry forms on the Foundation package?
No, form customisation is only available on the Professional package.
