Funding grants let you record the hourly rates you receive from your local authority for each funding type. Once set up, you can link them to children's plans so Famly can calculate the correct funding deductions on invoices and in your Public funding report.
Types of Funding Grants Across the UK
Each council manages early years funding differently, but there are a number of available grants across the UK. Visit your local authority's website to get specific details about what's available in your area. You can find your council's website via GOV.UK.

Wales offers the Flying Start Programme for some 2 year olds, and 30 hours funding for 3 and 4 year olds
Northern Ireland offers the Pre-School Education Programme (PSEP), providing 12.5 hours per week for 3 and 4 year olds
Local Authority Grants
Some councils offer additional funding for low-income families or children with special educational needs (SEN). It's worth checking what support is available in your area.
How to Add a Funding Grant
To add a new funding grant:
Go to Settings → Finances → Public funding → Funding grants
Click New grant to add a new funding grant and fill in the details
Click Save
Once saved, you can link the funding grant to a child's booking plan. Any updates you make to a funding grant's rate will automatically pull through to all children's plans that have it linked.
💡 Keep in mind that there's no way to bulk add or remove funding grants. This needs to be done individually for each child in their booking

How to Update a Funding Rate
When your local authority changes its funding rate, you can add a new rate period to an existing funding grant rather than creating a new one from scratch.
Go to Settings → Finances → Pricing → Fundamentals → Funding grants
Click on the pen icon
on the funding grant that is changingClick Add rate period
Adjust the dates for the new rate period
Enter the new hourly rate
Click Save
Changes to your funding grant rates will automatically apply to any children's plans that have that grant linked. You don't need to update them manually.
💡 If you apply funding manually, you will need to update the hourly rate and funding contribution on each child's sessions yourself, as these won't update automatically
