Child Attendance

A Video Guide to Attendance

In the video below, Faith will run through all things found in the Attendance navigation icon of Famly. Take a look!

šŸ’” Did you know? The Classroom planner is more of a forward planner or physical attendance sheet. Read about the Classroom planner here.

Your Attendance records are primarily for historical attendance records, however can also be used to see upcoming attendance. More detail below!

Reviewing Child Attendance

Navigate to Attendance → Child attendance.

Select a date using the arrows at the top of your screen. You can see the details for that week on a classroom level, and at the bottom, you have the details summarized for the entire site.

To expand your overview, rotate your tablet or smartphone into landscape mode. If you're using Famly on a desktop computer, you'll see the expanded version by default:

You can get a detailed overview by clicking the name of each classroom in your center. This expands a drop-down view of the room, to show the children in that classroom.

From this view, you're able to see:

  • When the child checked in and out on a specific day

  • Vacation (indicated with the sunshine icon)

  • Sick days (indicated with the thermometer icon)

  • Absences (indicated with a black circle with a line through it)

  • Failed check-outs (indicated with the warning sign icon). These appear if a child was not checked out of the site.

  • A holiday RSVP request that is outstanding (indicated with a question mark icon)

šŸ’” Did you know? The total amount of time a child was checked in across a week period is summarized in the column to the right. The amount of hours in red, with a 'plus' sign, indicates the time the child was checked into the center above what was expected.

This is used to easily bill for attendance fees, such as late pickup fees.

Amending Child Attendance

The Child Attendance summary shows with a āš ļø icon any missing check-outs:

If you need to change check-in or check-out times, you click on the child's attendance cell on the day in question.

From here, you'll be able to either edit (with the pencil icon), remove information (with the trash can icon), add a vacation day, or add a sick day.

Exporting Monthly Attendance Data

You can also export the Monthly child attendance report by going to Reports and selecting Monthly child attendance. The report has a View options menu, right next to the View button. It lets you switch the report between Days, which shows attendance codes like Present, Absent, and Vacation, and Hours, which shows the exact time each child was signed in and out every day, plus a monthly total.

You can also turn on extra columns like Date of birth, Room, and Duration, and choose whether to show an address in the header or a manager signature line in the footer, handy if you're printing the report for a sign-off.

šŸ’” You can also toggle on a parent signature field by clicking on View, then choosing to show Parent signature in the footer section

šŸ’”Did you know? To export data on a child's entire history on Famly, including attendance data, view this article on Child and Staff In-App Export.

The attendance exports within the data package include the following in the titles:
