We’re currently reviewing our digital medication and accident forms to ensure they comply with local policies across the UK. While our forms meet the statutory requirements for England, some regions have additional requirements around how parents acknowledge the administration of medicine or accident records.

If you're based in Scotland, Wales or Leicestershire, please read below to see how this may affect you. In the meantime, if your local policy requires a parent’s signature (rather than digital acknowledgement), we recommend using a paper form until updates are made.

Leicestershire Medication Forms

Our medication form’s parent acknowledgement feature meets statutory requirements for England. However, the Leicestershire Managing Medicines in Schools Policy and Procedure requires a parent's signature to authorise medicine administration.

☝️ At present, our form does not include a signature field. If you're based in Leicestershire, we advise using a paper form to stay compliant until this is resolved

Scotland Medication Forms

Our medication form includes a digital acknowledgement button, which is not a statutory issue. However, Scotland’s Management of Medication in Daycare of Children and Childminding Services guide mentions a parent signature as best practice.

☝️ If you believe it’s better for you to obtain a signature and not a digital acknowledgement for your setting, we recommend using a paper form for now

Wales Medication and Accident Forms

Medication Forms

Wales’ national minimum standards require a parent's signature to acknowledge that medicine was administered. While our digital acknowledgement meets England’s requirements, it may not meet the Welsh standards.

☝️ Due to the national minimum standard, the digital acknowledgement may not be sufficient. If you believe it’s better for you to obtain a signature and not a digital acknowledgement, then we suggest using a paper form for now

Accident Forms

Similarly, Wales’ standards require a parent's signature on accident forms.
Currently, our feature uses a digital acknowledgement. If you need to ensure compliance with Welsh national minimum standard requirements, consider using a paper form for now.

We’re working on updating our forms to better support regional compliance needs. In the meantime, if you're unsure whether you need a signature or not, please refer to your local authority guidance or use a paper form as a precaution.
