Setting up age groups is the recommended way to organize children in Famly. Age group ratios allow you to monitor mixed and same-age groups across classrooms, and will flag up in your Overview, Staff schedule, Classroom planner, and Classroom overview pages whenever your staff ratio isn't being met.
How to Set Up Age Groups
To create or manage your age groups:
Head to your Settings
Go to Children and select Age groups
From here, you can name and configure your age groups however works best for your nursery
For each group, you'll be asked to set two things:
Staff Ratio - the recommended number of staff per child for that age group
Maximum Capacity - the total number of children that can be in the group at one time
When defining age ranges, keep in mind that if children move to the next group upon turning 2, for example, you should set the range from 0 to 23. This ensures the full 23rd month is included.
Pricing Groups
Pricing groups serve a different purpose than Age groups. They're used to create pricing segmentation across your Packages, Fees, and Sessions, most commonly based on a child's age. To find out more, take a look at our article on Pricing groups.
