Move Children Between Sites in Your Group

Updated this week

If a child is transferring to another site within your group, you can move their profile directly in Famly.

Move a Child to Another Site in Your Group

To move a child from one site to another in your group:

  • Head to the child’s profile

  • Click on the About tab

  • Find Registration and classroom move

  • Click the Move setting button

  • Select the site the child is moving to

  • Enter the Date to move. This becomes the child’s new start date at the new site

  • Untick the journey option if you do not want the child’s journey to transfer

  • Confirm the move

Important Information About Timing

Before creating the move, it is important to understand how the transfer timing works:

  • The child’s data transfers immediately when the move is created

  • The transfer does not wait until the selected move date

  • Any observations or records created after the move is set up, but before the move date, will remain in the original site

  • For this reason, create the move as close as possible to the child’s actual move date

  • Invoice history, bill payers, and plans do not transfer between sites

After the Move Date

Once the move date arrives, the child will appear in the new site automatically. You may then need to update their room placement:

  • On the selected move date, the child will appear in the new site in a room called Automatically moved from [previous site name]

  • To assign the child to a different room:

    • Click the Children icon

    • Find the child in the list

    • Click the room name shown in the third column

    • Select the correct room

  • The room change takes effect immediately

Finding the child in the previous site

If you need to access the child’s record in their previous site, use the withdrawn filter:

  • Go to Settings

  • Select Children

  • Apply the Withdrawn children filter

This allows you to view the child’s record in the original site.
