🔒 To see the center's full calendar, you must have the View site calendar permission. Without it, staff can only see their personal calendar
The Calendar in Famly is your go-to tool for managing events in your center. You can view upcoming events, plan new ones, and get a quick snapshot of who is absent on any given day.
You have two Calendar views in Famly:
My Calendar: contains the events you are invited to
The center's calendar: contains all the events taking place in the center
Finding Your Calendar
To access your Calendar, click the Home icon in your sidebar and select Calendar.
Creating a New Event
Creating events in Famly is simple and flexible. You can create a single one-off event, like a party, or a weekly schedule for multiple events. To add an event or schedule to your calendar:
Click on New Event
Choose whether you'd like to create a single New Event or a New Week Schedule
🔒 You need the Create calendar events for parents and staff permission to add events to the center's calendar
You can use the date picker at the top to jump to the week you're adding an event to
One-Off Events
To create a single event:
Click New Event at the top left of the Calendar
Select New Event from the drop-down menu
In the form, enter a title and description for your event and select the date and time
Events that don't have a set start or end time can be marked by using the All day toggle
Select your Invitees and whether you'd like them to RSVP or not
If you'd like to add an image for your event, use the Choose file button to upload one
Fill in the details in the pop-up window and click Save
Invitees
Use the Invitees field to choose who can see the event. Only those selected will have it appear in their calendars.
RSVP
You can request an RSVP from invitees. If RSVPs are required, attendees receive an invitation by email and in-app notification. Parents will get reminders one week and two days before the deadline if they haven't responded. Events more than 60 days away will only be posted to the newsfeed 60 days before the RSVP date.
💡 If you choose Notify Invitees, the event is posted on the newsfeed immediately, but only once
Weekly Schedule
You can add multiple events to a week (or more!) in bulk. To create a weekly schedule:
Select New Week Schedule
Choose who the schedule is for (whole site or a specific room)
Add events by selecting a date and clicking + Add Event. Use + Add Week to enter events for the following week
Enter event details: title, start/end time, description
Click Create to add all events to recipients’ calendars
Managing Events
Viewing Attendance
Click on an event to see who has responded and who is attending. The summary at the top shows total invitees and responses, while the list below details each adult or child’s RSVP status.
Cancelling an Event
To cancel an event:
Open the event in your Calendar
Click Delete at the top of the event page
Confirm by selecting Delete for everyone
The event will be removed from all invitees’ calendars.
