The New Starters section helps you keep track of everything needed for children who are due to start at your center. From family contacts to activity logs and pre-start tasks, everything is gathered in one place so your team can be fully prepared before a child's first day.
Where to Find New Starters
You can access the New Starters section by going to Attendance → Registration → New Starters. This area is automatically filled with all children whose start date is in the future. Whether they were enrolled through the Inquiries system or added manually, as long as their start date is upcoming they will appear in this list.
What You'll See on the New Starters Overview
The New Starters page gives you a quick overview of key details for each child, helping you track progress and identify next steps.
You'll see:
A list of upcoming children
Each child's start date
Family contacts
Last activity, such as logins, messages, or completed tasks
Task progress, shown as completed out of total (e.g. 6/12)
🔒 With the New starters to-dos permission enabled, staff can create and manage a parent to-do list
It's also a good idea to set up your New Starters messaging team to help parents connect with your center from the start.
Viewing a Child's Full Details
Clicking a child's name opens a side panel where you can see everything in one place. This includes:
Start date
Family contacts, with role and access level icons
Green = full access
Orange = limited access
Contact details, such as phone number and email address
Activity log, showing the number of logins and messages sent
Task list, grouped by time (for example, 8 weeks pre-start or 1 week pre-start)
Each task shows whether it is completed, and if relevant, which contact completed it

The New Starters section gives your team a clear way to stay organized and support families before their child's first day.
It helps you:
Quickly see which tasks are incomplete
Contact families directly if they need support
Make sure no important steps are missed before a child starts
Monitor how engaged families are through logins and messages
