Finding Your Identification Number

What is an Identification Number?

Each nursery or childcare setting has a unique identification number. This number helps us distinguish your setting from all others, so we can keep your details accurate in our system and support you more efficiently.

You can add this number to your nursery information by going to Settings β†’ General β†’ Information. Then, scroll down to the Identification Number field:


Where to Find Your Identification Number

Here is where you can find your identification number depending on your location:

England

Your identification number is called a Unified Registration Number (URN). To find it:

  • Search using your setting name, keyword, or postcode

  • Select your setting from the results

  • Your URN is displayed right under your setting name at the top of the page


Scotland

Your identification number is called a Care Service Number (CSN). To find it:

  • Search using your service name, provider name, location, or postcode

  • Open your service details

  • Your CSN will be shown at the top of the Service details box under Service Number


Wales

Your identification number is called a CIW Registration Number. To find it:

  • You can find it on your registration certificate or in your CIW online account

  • CIW numbers can look like any of the following:

    • W112345678

    • W161234567

    • W15/12345678

    • W16/12345678

  • If your number includes a /, make sure you include it exactly as shown

  • Newer CIW numbers start with CYM and are 11 characters long, for example: CYM00002456


Northern Ireland

Your identification number is called a Registration Number.

  • Your Registration Number is assigned by your Local Health and Social Care Trust (HSCT) on behalf of the Department of Health

  • You can find it on your registration documents from your HSCT

  • Alternatively, you can find your Registration Number by going to Family Support NI and searching for your setting name in the Keyword field

  • Your Registration Number will be displayed under Childcare Provider (CCP) Information as your CCP Reference


Ireland

Your identification number is called a Tusla Number. To find it:

  • Head to the Tulsa Register of Early Years Services and select your county

  • Find your setting in the Service Name column and check your Tulsa Number in the first column

  • Your Tulsa Number will start with TU, followed by 9 digits or letters
